I worked closely with international choreographer Janis Claxton who needed to showcase her award-winning work on a website that would look great on all modern devices. Janis had assembled plenty of great images and reviews, but the content and structure of her previous site had become confusing and difficult to navigate. We began by breaking down what she wanted to achieve, and were then able to design and structure a new site to highlight her work simply and cleanly. A unique design now reflects the energy and personality of her work, so Janis can now more easily showcase her previous work to potential clients, and go on to produce more great work as a result.

After working together, Janis had this to say:

I recently had the pleasure of working with David on the restructure and redesign of my web-site. David is not only a fine designer but a clear and organised strategic thinker – a great attribute for him as an artist to possess, and for me as an artist to receive. I really needed the organisational aspect of the web design to be clarified and I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently he helped me to find the answers, a balanced combination of advising and drawing out my own desires and needs. Love the new design and love the clarity he helped me find. David is efficient, quick, productive and fun!Janis Claxton, Award Winning Choreographer and Producer

Janis’ new website beautifully showcases the different aspects of her work including:

  • Janis’ own contemporary dance company Janis Claxton Dance
  • The numerous works Janis has choreographed and produced in venues across the world
  • Janis’ extensive teaching experience

Featuring a bold colour scheme (which alludes to Janis’ work in China in addition to Scotland), a clean layout with simple navigation across the whole site, not to mention plenty of embedded videos and photo galleries which expand with a tap to show off Janis’ energetic work as boldly as possible, the site looks great whether you’re viewing it on a 4-inch phone or a 27-inch desktop 🙂
